Okay that makes zero sense. It’s a very high honor for a noble woman to be chosen as the Queen’s handmaid/lady in waiting. They are nearly all high born noblewomen and the position is incredibly important. Why would anyone look down on someone who was chosen to serve. Besides that in the Royal palace ALL servants are of the nobility. Either they are 3rd and so on children of a house, a fallen house, or a lesser house, etc. Talk about arrogant.
