Weird fun fact ;
This was the real historical intent behind the guillotine a faster and painless execution method as opposed to classic beheading and hanging.
It was also an egalitarian method as before beheading was for nobles and hanging for commoner as beheading was faster and less painfull.

However when execution pilled up during the terror it was not uncommon for the blade to be used too much to have time to clean and sharpen it so it would loose efficiency and be a slower more painfull death.
