Summary
“Choose for yourself. Will you be executed right here, or will you become the wife of the man who beheaded your father?” Juno, the princess of a small kingdom, was raised as a sheltered daughter by her kind father, the King. She had been eagerly awaiting her marriage to her gentle fiancé, Leif, the Second Prince of a neighboring country. However, her reunion with Leif takes place in front of her father's blood-stained corpse. Leif had suddenly attacked Juno's country with his army, conquering it with lightning speed. “Murderer!” Juno cries out, blaming him. Leif coldly tells her, “As of this moment, I am breaking our engagement.” He continues, “Choose for yourself. Will you be executed here, or become the wife of the man who beheaded your father?” Juno realizes he intends to humiliate her by forcing her to make the choice herself. For the sake of her people, she chooses to become his wife. Her new purpose: to survive, even if she has to crawl through the mud, and exact her revenge on him. But there is one thing she hasn't noticed. The hidden affection that still lingers within Leif's eyes…

The current 1 star rating is too harsh, but so far I don’t really get the point of the story, either:)
We have a sheltered, well-meaning princess-saintess FL in love with her fiancee ML, who suddenly rebels and takes over her kingdom, kills her father and kinda subjugates and isolates her as his wife.
For reasons, we learn, I will not spoil – however, keeping the beloved FL in the dark and posing as a dick does not make much sense… she is not the brightest crayon in the box to begin with and naturally an easy target for schemes and festering misunderstanding.
I guess in the end ML tries to protect her from the harsh truth instead of trusting her to make her own judement – so far (read the first 20is ch:), it feels like a fabrication to stretch the story unnesessarily betting on the FL being too dumb to handel reality. While at the same time pushing her to the brink of suicide and exposing her to psychological pressure and hatred, she has no clue where that came from.
Nahh for me, but if you are into twisted love, traditional male/female stereotypes and misunderstandings eventually overcome, it might be for you:)
