First : this story has a LOT of SA elements on top of being a “fuck or die” trope.
However ; this is not NSFW.
And weirdly while this is condemnable 2 of those SA are justified by the other option being… death (and you could argue that this mean that no one was able to consent in those case)
This story litteraly open with MC having to rape a dying man to avoid dying herself.
Well it is interesting and one of the comic i look forward to reading all the time.
Despite the awful situation it does have wholesome element : like a growing understanding that the women are not actually each other ennemies.
The intent behind them centering male is also very well shown that this is… for survival, that world suck for women for some reason most of them get less power than males by birth and their freedom and survival depend on having decent fertility (or they get sent to the “brothel cave” to be raped to death, very litteraly this is what happen to the mother of mc incarnation) and decents husbands since the males are the one who must both raise the kids and bring food/keep predators away.
The setting is also shown to be bad, not fully working and just false since mc mother judged for low fertility… ended up with a 9 cub litter wich is uncommon, the cubs and her only died due to the poor environement and treatment in the cave.
A lot of what is usualy “womanly” tech is seen as rare and valuable since the ladies are all stuck as birthing machine…with birth still being a very dangerous and painful thing. [By womanly tech i mean … TEXTILES they are extremely rare despite weaving being one of the oldest tech, but the one in charge of that are usually… women]
So is it good? I can’t really say, but it sure is interesting and i am enjoying reading it and commenting it.
Like i think i could have a lot of fun making a full length analysis of this story and setting.
However i am still somewhat shocked that this isn’t porn, like this story would be very justified in using nsfw.
But it is appreciable that this mean we do not get graphic SA and just suggered SA.
Oh ! And we have a recurring mob character who is a fat woman and isn’t seen as ugly, she is also drawn in a way that is fairly cute. She is however very secondary but i’m happy for no overt fatphobia
(she also isn’t evil so far wich YAY. … Yes fatphobia is so common in webtoons, webcomics,manwa/ga and webnovel that i’m willing to take this as a victory.)
